Privacy Policy
Protecting your privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement
will help you understand how ORCON Corporation collects, uses and safeguards
data you provide us across the Internet.
If you have questions or
concerns regarding this policy, you should contact ORCON by email at privacy@orcon.com.
If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or your concerns have not
been addressed to your satisfaction, please contact ORCON s Executive offices at
800 227-0505 and ask for our Chief Financial Officer. Our CFO is responsible for
privacy inquiries.
Data we collect from you
Currently ORCON
only collects personal data as a Web user enters the Distributor Locator section
of our Floor Covering Installation Systems Division (FCISD) site. You are asked
to supply contact information (name, address, phone number, email address), your
occupation or professional interest in our products, and any comments you wish
to provide. You are free to supply as little or as much of the requested data as
you feel is appropriate and may leave the form blank altogether if you so
desire. Click the "submit" button to continue to the Locator.
ORCON may
also collect data about your computer hardware and software. This data can
include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser type, ISP (Internet Service
Provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of
clicks, domain names, access times and referring web site
addresses.
How we use your data
The data collected as
people enter the FCISD Distributor Locator is given to our Marketing Department
for action and stored in a database of people accessing the site for historical
purposes. We use the database primarily to answer your questions, and strictly
limit its use to internal purposes only by our FCISD group. The data is not used
to supply addresses for promotional mailings or for other contact outside your
initial inquiry, and is not shared with any company, association, agency or
individual outside of ORCON Corporation.
ORCON does not sell, lease or
rent any personally identifiable data provided by you to any third
parties.
Technical data collected by our Web server about your visit is
used to administer our Web site, to detect problems with our equipment, improve
and maintain the quality of our Web site, and potentially track traffic patterns
on the site. We neither track nor analyze data based on domain name or MIME
information.
ORCON may disclose your personally identifiable data,
without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief
that such action is necessary to:
- Conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ORCON Corporation,
- Protect and defend the rights or property of ORCON Corporation, or
- Protect and defend the personal safety of users of ORCON s Web site(s).
ORCON Corporation does not use "cookies" and does not store any data or information either temporarily or permanently on your computer.
Log files
ORCON Corporation uses rudimentary log files built from activity on our Web server and firewall in accordance with generally accepted industry practices. As listed earlier, technical data collected may include a description of the browser you are using to connect to ORCON s site, your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (Internet Service Provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. Data are used to analyze trends, administer the site, and track user s movement in the aggregate. We cannot currently collect demographic data in our Web server log. IP address and the like are not linked to personally identifiable data.
Security measures
Effective data security and privacy are primary tasks of ORCON s Information Technologies department. That emphasis is carried along with any use of data collected through our Web site or by email.
The "orcon.com" domain utilizes a Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") that employs encryption to mask and protect the privacy of personally identifiable data being passed to the company. The Distributor Locator inquiry page is protected by this encryption, further protecting the privacy of the contact information you key there. Our certification may be verified through Thawte:
